Here's Two Dresses for You!

So Mike bought a new camera for us, and I am finally overcoming my aprehension that I will lose it again. So now I can take the pictures and post them for all to see. Here is the first dress that I had made, that I talked about in the last post.

You can't tell since it isn't on Savannah, but there is a little slit down the front and then buttons up the back. (Sorry she isn't modeling it, but there is only so many times that I can get away with dressing and undressing her.)

Here is another dress that I made using the same pattern, which can be found here: Craftster (if the link doesn't work, the site is listed in Joanna's post of Rachel with the Hawaian dress on)

I agree with Jo, that it looks easier than it is, but in part cause I am having to learn how to line dresses, and since there really is no pattern, and can't say I followed the instructions very closely, well, not as easy as pie, or whatever the phrase was that the original lady used.

Well, that is all for now. I can't remember what other pictures I had to post... Other than the ones of the baby blanket that I can't post yet since I have already mailed it and am waiting for a picture from the new parents. Hmmm, if they are anything like I was when Savannah was born they may get the picture to me sometime this fall. Oh well, something for you to look forward to.

Those dresses are so cute! It is no fun to sew for boys...I'm not even sure what I would make for them! Maybe I'll have a girl to sew for someday - although every time I make a comment like that to people who have both boys and girls tell me to be thankful that I have boys because they are so much easier and usually have a much better relationship with their mom's than the girls, especially in the teen years. Kinda freaky that I hear that so often...

awww, boys are fun too, but more for fun. My mom used to make my brother and I pajamas and shorts and t-shirts. She thought it was great!

don't believe them. girls are way easier. plus you can appease them with things like hand made dresses, pillows and the like. boys...you have to buy them gi joes or whatever. i'll take a picture of a coaster i made for ella that she carts around with her everywhere. she comes up to me and strokes my cheek and says "i really like this tiny pot holder mom, thanks for making it for me". how can you beat that?

good job on the other dress meagan! it's cute!

i've never been told that boys are easier. my realtor, who has a pre-teen girl and a boy about 8, says that he thinks girls are mellow and then turn crazy during puberty and boys are crazy in the beginning and then get mellow. sounds about right for caleb cause it seems like he walks around all day kicking and flailing about while yelling "suuuuuper maaaaaan!!!!!" and i do remember being pretty emotional and crazy when i was in junior high. good luck with that jo!

i think the original phrase was "ridiculously easy"
