Speaking of forgetting to get stuff while at Joanns, I forgot to get more white thread. That doesn't cause too much problems till you go to use it. Well now I am stuck. I can't do any more on the padfolio. I got all the way to the part where I sew the pencils holders in and since the thread shows, it has to be white. Oh well, can't do anymore till I get some white thread.
Here's a pic of what it looks like so far:

That looks great! Where did the piece of wood go that I saw in the materials list?
wow! it's looks great meagan! i can't wait to see it finished. you can borrow some of my white thread. care to? i want it back though.
lol. I'll get some more thread on Wednesday when I am in Jax... or maybe head to town tomorrow, we'll see.
Wood??? There is no wood on the materials list. Timtex??? Its a fabric interfacing that you can only get through online. I haven't ordered any yet cause I wanted to experiment a little first with other stabilizers first.
I like the color scheme, looks like your doing great on your project Great Job!!!
Great..another excuse to go to JOANNS!!!! YEAH!!! Don't forget the white thread. :)
I didn't make up the wood thing - look here is the materials list copied exactly from the craft apple site:
Fabric and Materials requirements:
"4 coordinating fat quarters (For fabric with a one-way directional print,
more fabric may be needed)
½ yard quilt batting (I prefer Warm ‘N Natural)
½ yard lightweight interfacing
½ yard Pellon® Craft Fuse or similar heavyweight interfacing
1/3 yard of Pellon® craft stabilizer or Timtex® stabilizer
9” x 11” piece of corrugated or other stiff cardboard
**8½ ” x 11” piece of hardboard (1/8” thick and will need
to be cut to size with saw.)**
small piece of vinyl
8½ ” x 11” legal pad
Size 90/14 needle for sewing through thick layers
This is a copyrighted design. Please do not create this item for sale.
Thank you!"
Note the area I put **double stars** around!! Is this not the same pattern you ordered?
That is a different pattern. This one is the one from WWW.pinkchalkstudios.com
where did you find the one you copied??? I didn't find it in the craft apple tutorials section.
http://www.pinkchalkstudio.com/shop.html
It's not a tutorial. It is one of her actual patterns that she sells. She gives the list of materials needed on the web site so you can get an idea before you buy.
Ahha! I found it. Nope not the same one but it is very similar. I am sure that the wood is used as additional support so that the patchfolio is extremely strong.
