Snow?

This is the sight that greeted us this morning when we woke up!

For those of you who live in Florida, this is snow. It is a cold and wet substance that falls like rain! ;) For any of you living in "the North", which in Texas-speak is anything north of Oklahoma, I know full well that this isn't "real" snow. This is a slight dusting of powder, but my kids haven't seen snow since we were in Colorado a year and a half ago, so they are thrilled to be outside right now "playing in the snow"!

It's hard to believe that it was 85 out last week and they were running around in the yard in their shirtsleeves, working up a sweat! This winter has been so mild here, that these are their coats and hats from last winter (when we went to Colorado). I could hardly zip Ethan's up! I'll buy them new ones next year...

Funny, my kids ran in to wake me up this morning to tell me it was snowing here too... They were thrilled (it has only snowed 1 other time in our year and a half here...) It was big huge flakes. Really pretty, but within half an hour the temp had risen and the snow all melted away and it rained. Wonderful English weather!

It's funny, because I think of England as being lots colder, but in truth, it is in the same temperature zone as north Texas! Of course, all the snow is long gone and it is already 51 out!

They always say, "If you don't like the weather in Texas, stick around for 10 minutes - it'll change!"

It is a huge back yard. That is one of the main reasons we bought this house. It is so hard to find a house with a yard. Unless you are looking at houses over $500,000, which we weren't, you only get a tiny lot. So we looked at older homes, willing to take the trade off when we had small kids. There are a few things about this house that we really don't like - such as our bedroom being directly across the hall from the boy's room - but we figured that the yard was more important with young ones. Some day, though, we're going to want more privacy! Oh, and one thing you cannot see in the picture is that we have a 400 sq. foot covered patio! Great for parties - of course the only parties we have are kids birthday parties! :)

Wow, that looks like the boys had a great time, by the smile on their cute faces! You are so lucky to have a great back yard like that! Tons of room!

How wonderfully fun for your kids! I think the previous week's 85 degree weather sounds fun for a change though from our sub-zero temps in Norway!

too funny! my best friend down there in TX, who incidentally hates cold weather, called me and hollered about the weather!
