Show and Tell

This past Saturday morning, I checked my email and saw that there was a great sale at my favorite quilting shop in the DC area.  The Artful Quilter. All of their fat quarters were on sale for $1.50!!! So, I did what I knew I had to do. I left the kid with Shane and drove 45 minutes to go shopping! It was so much fun! But it would have been more fun if one of you guys could have come with me :(

This one is the only one I have no idea what I will do with.  But I think it's so darn cute!  It's Japanese cotton. It's not stiff at all so maybe I will make a tiny dress. I think it would be cute with red trim.

This one I will make a girl's dress.  The green fabric is interesting because it is half plaid and half polka dots.  I'll probably use the polka dots with the main fabric.  Not sure what I will do with the plaid part.  It's a Japanese linen and cotton blend.

This one I am going to make a skirt for myself with.  It's also a Japanese linen and cotton blend.

I HEART Kaffe Fassett!  Even though I know I shouldn't, I've been collecting his fabric.  He is amazing!  His fabrics are super busy and colorful, but somehow when you put them all together, they look absolutely gorgeous and not overwhelming, as you'd think.  I got the green stuff with Joanna (we swapped fabrics, so I got 1/2 yard of this).  I didn't think it went very well with the other greens I bought (see below), but it goes really well with the orangey stuff I got this past weekend.

Here's a bunch of the green Kaffe Fassett fabrics I bought with Joanna.  Plus two of this cabbage prints that I bought on Saturday.  I plan to make a Kaffe Fassett quilt once I've collected enough of it.  Joanna and I saw a Disappearing 9 Patch with Kaffe Fassett fabric and I'm in love.  It used all green fabrics with just a little bit of red.  I'm going to do the same except with the purple/blue instead of red.

Oh so lovely!!! I really dig the tree/squirrel/mushroom fabric. It is so cute! Wow, you lucky girl! I sat around watching golf and football all weekend. How boring! I should have gone over to your house.

He He, I love the apple one.... we just happen to be studying that this week....

The top fabric I think would make great dinnertime napkins.
