Fresh Squeezed Quilt
I ended up doing the stippling all over. (Click on the picture to super-size and check it out.) The more I did it, the more consistent and comfortable it was. It was actually pretty fun to do! I'm not sure I'd want to do it for a really big quilt though. I used Crazy Moms Quilts' binding tutorial for the binding. This is a really great tutorial with tons of pictures. I got a Fons and Porter quilting book from the library to help with the binding, but I actually found Crazy Mom's tutorial more helpful.
I'm really happy with the way it turned out even though there are some really rough parts, like where the bobbin thread pulled really tight for an inch or two in random places. It's definitely not gift-worthy. But, I'm sure my little girl will love it. Besides, this way, if it starts to fall apart, I can always fix it and will know how to make my other quilts stronger. I really want to start on another quilt! Or should I make a tiny little dress?

i LOVE it~ :-) The colors are wonderful, such pretty fabric. How long did it take you to make? I so have to go get me a sewing machine... Of course, to pick up sewing as well I may have to start sleeping less...
Thanks! It took me about a month, but that includes me waiting for extra fabric. And a lot of "thinking" about how I wanted to go about finishing it. I read a lot of quilting blogs. It was fun though! And I hope you do get to have a sewing machine soon! Sometimes I feel guilty for having one because I don't use it often, but I'm so glad I have it when I do use it.
aw so cute, i love the colors!
Wow. I really like the quilt. It is so the colors I would choose (those and pastels) but even I get a little fearful of the quilting phase. I have plans for a new quilt for Savannah to take to school but I am still not sure how I will quilt it.....
Maybe I will stitch in the ditch so that the pattern ends up on both sides.....
I LOVE IT !!!!!! Did you buy all the fabric in a bundle together or did you come up with it on your own?
Thanks everyone! Kai - I kind of collected the fabric over time. I bought two charm packs of Moda's Fresh Squeezed line. Then I saw the backing fabric on sale at a quilt shop. Then I bought the blue and rainbow striped material (that I used for the borders and binding) on Etsy. It took me a while to figure out what design to do. I spent a lot of time looking at blogs online.
