Stash Confessional

Forgive me, for I have stashed ... way too much. Even I was surprised at how much yarn I have collected. I thought, as I stared at all that yarn, how fortunate it was that I have come to this realization that I need to stop buying yarn. It's beyond ridiculousness really. Not even a week ago I put my yarn bag upstairs and resolved that reading about tax, auditing, managerial and financial accounting would be my new hobby. And here I am with probably over $1,000 of yarn. I even had thoughts of selling some it on ebay. Or maybe even attracting some new readers with the words FREE YARN!!! I felt regret. About all the crazy, obsessive impulses to buy yarn that I too easily gave into. So I packed it all back into the jumbo sized ziploc bags. I did organize a little differently this time. I used to have them bagged according to weight (aran, DK, sport, etc.), but this I seperated the single skeins and the skeins that have been frogged or wound. These I put in two jumbo bags and will try with as much devotion as I can manage to knit these up first.

Should I even mention this? Well, since this is stash confessional... I was looking at the sale yarn at Purl and they just put up too many lovely colors of Mission Falls 1824 Cotton for me to immediately put out of my mind. I've never had this kind of yarn before and it's only about $3 a ball. I could buy 5 and make a tank top or buy a couple different colors and make a baby blanket. I mean, it's only $3. And my stash is so big that it wouldn't really seem any bigger if I bought just a couple more balls, right?

Hail Mary, full of grace ...

Did you mention that you made the beautiful quilt from fabric purchased in Folsom during a trip to your Mom in Sacramento. It is so beautiful that I saw three(Yes, 3)quilts in the 2007 Folsom quilt show that used the same fabric line.
