Checking Things Off the List

Remember my list? Well, so far I have checked off the little artist cases, Katherine's dress, the letter of intent and most of the crocheted blanket and lesson plans. Today, I finished Lily's quilt. I am tickled pink!! There are several mistakes that sort of bother me, but one of them I can fix if only I could find my FrayCheck (God bless the inventor of that stuff). It took me four days to finishe the binding on quilt; I do have three kids, a husband and a watermelon stuck to my stomach though. All that's left on my list are the no-quite-finished lesson plans and the crocheted blanket. My problem with that is that every time I pick it up I crochet about 10 stitches before I start falling asleep. It's really weird. Making all these blankets is causing hot flashes, also. They have to be on my lap and I'm hot already so then the blankets make me even hotter and I'm sweating and practically panting while I'm sewing or crocheting. It's crazy!

I also finished off those silly quillow pillow tops as floor pillows for the kids. I had bought floor pillows in Korea seven years ago and they don't get used because of the material it's made of, which is scratchy. So I took the pillows out of them and put them plus some extra batting (to puff them up a bit) into the quillow pillow tops and they're great floor pillows. I am saving the Korean covers for pojagi. It'll be small but it'll be a nice addition to our Korean room, if we ever live in a place big enough for that. I'll save the pojagi for after Lily comes. Those are two different links to see what pojagi is. O.K., I need a cup of ice before I melt.

I really love the colors of the quilt! looks like you did a really neat job too, the corners of the pieces match up perfectly. i know from my mom that that is a sign of expert quilt making. i'm sorry about the quillow being a disappointment, but it's great how things worked out nicely and you get to use the floor pillows. i can't remember what they call them in korea, but i know they are called za-bu-ton in japanese.

I can't believe you are getting so much of your list done! And the quilt is beautiful. Lily will cherish it. Aaron loves the quilt my mom made him. Ethan is still too young to care, and his hangs on his wall anyway.

every mom i've met of more than three kids said number four is when she got organized. i guess it's my time although to look around the house you'd think i was a big slob. i blame it all on being big as a house. i think soon that sarah will be ready for chores and ella already is so i'm going to put those two to work when the school year starts. AAAHHH HOT FLASH!
