New Fabric

Okay, so I went to JoAnn this morning for a truly legitmate fabric need, and happened upon this great fabric that I just had to snatch up.
I need some ideas for it. It is a cotton fabric, medium weight, with a woven texture to it. It has a pretty large pattern, so I think it would look good as a large purse/tote. But I bought 2 yards of it, so obviously I can make more than a tote. What do you guys think? Any ideas jump out at you?

wow! what a fantastic fabric!!! i think it's too good for a tote and i almost thought you should make a skirt but i think it's too busy for a skirt. gosh...it's probably one of those that i'd keep in my stash for years and never use it; i'd just get it out and ooh and aah over it about once a month. sick, eh? but i'll keep my eyes open for something totally cool to make out of it.

Wow, I think that it is great material too. I also would have thought a skirt but Jo beat me to it. So lets see, it would make a greatbag, or maybe a set of bags, or throw pillows? a blanket... but you would have to mix in other material to make it big enough..... hmmm.

So I think it would make a great lampshade, table runner, table topper, drapes.... If there is red in any of the rooms it would look really great. If you went table runner or something like that, I think it would make a great one for fall season, with the red falling leaves... very pretty fabric. Oh... maybe the outside of Pink Chalk Studio's notetaker.... Too many options here.

wow, i think the pad-folio or the notetaker or whatever it's called is a great idea for that fabric. coupled with some good contrasting fabrics i think it'd look great!

I'll just have to find some good contrasting fabrics. I was thinking about that last time I was at the fabric store. I'll have to look at that next time I get to go out without the boys. Young boys and fabric stores do not mix so well...Thanks for the great ideas!!

Great fabric! Here's an idea--make something for your mom with it :).
