I Sewed Something!

When we got Caleb's blankies back from Shane's sister and dad, one of them looked like this.

I have no idea what happened. His blankies were in pristine condition since he doesn't like to take them out of the house. I couldn't bear to leave it in that condition so I fixed it!! I cut off the torn part and sewed the end.

I know this is not impressive sewing, but I thought you would all be proud of me that I actually took the initiative to pull the sewing machine out. I'm so easily impressed with myself :)

Wow. I am impressed. Give yourself some credit girl! When I first started I couldn't even sew straight... Not even as straight as you just did on that there blanket. I think it looks marvelous and it saved you from having to get another one.

I think you could easily branch out into something more... a little drawstring bag or whatnot. They really aren't that hard. I think the hardest part is the sewing straight stuff....

I think that would be cool. I have been wanting to do a crazy nine patch one but like you it has been on the back burner for quite a while.

I am so proud of you, Marie! There is a budding seamstress in there after all!

I just got back from Ohio and saw you got Caleb back too. I cannot imagine how wonderful that must have felt. It is always good to get those moments of confirmation that having kids was a good idea after all. After 9 hours of travel with mine, I could use one just about now...
