Who Says Boys Are Harder?

I'm cleaning up my sewing station when I hear this come out of Ella's mouth:

"Hey Sarah, I'll go get the other cart and then WE CAN CRASH!!!"

Yikes...

I should have taken a picture but I made this really yummy tomato soup tonight and I served it with grilled cheese sandwiches. The sandwiches were Asiago cheese and a really nice cheddar cheese. The good thing about the tomato soup is that it's so stinking easy.

Super Easy Tomato Soup

2 - 8oz cans of tomato sauce
1 - 14.5oz can of Italian flavored diced tomatoes
5 cups chicken or vegetable broth or stock
some basil, pepper and parsley, to taste

Put it all in a pot and simmer for 15 minutes minimum. I didn't think it needed any salt because the tomato sauce and diced tomatoes are already salted. Garnish with a sprig of fresh parsley and some parmesean cheese. I gave the kids some Goldfish crackers also. All the kids, even picky Sarah, ate two bowls of it.

Check out my pumpkin patch. I gave them all to my grandma to sell at her craft fair. They think they will get at least $50 for them all. Crazy, eh?
So then Ella tells me that she wants a "big girl" pillowcase because she's a big girl and her pillowcase is for little girls. I made her the top one and the bottom one was specifically requested by Sarah.

I thought Ella was supposed to be making the pillowcase?

yeah, she got uninterested and i got tired of seeing the fabric hanging around. i'm sure she would have become interested again but at the rate i'm going if you're fabric and you've been cut into a project, you've got about 24 hours to get sewn up or you're toast. so i sewed it up for her. she can try again later.

Cute pincushions. I always thought boys were easier to raise than girls, but I guess it depends on the individual doesnt it. Easy and hard in both sexes.

So if I counted them right, that is like $5 each right???? Very good job. See I think it is stuff like that you could sell to get a rather good income but I am not sure how you would market it, and it would have to be an origial design.

It totally cracks me up that you say "yikes!" to cart crashing! You really need to spend some time at my house. Forget the carts, lets just tackle eachother - into walls, or on the floor, or just jump on eachother's heads and stomachs! Ooh, ooh, I know! You lay on the floor and I'll stand on the table and jump off onto you and smoosh you!! Yeah!! These are not from my imagination - they've all really happened. Sometimes to squeals of delight and sometimes to screams of, "Mommy! Aaron/Ethan hurt me!!" And they're only 2 and 4...I cannot wait until they're 12 and 14! I should get a timeshare at the local hospital!

i honestly wouldn't really know which is harder because i only have four girls...they seem pretty darn easy going to me but they do like to crash, and fall, and bleed, and climb, and jump. lots of fun.

there are 16 pumpkins in three different sizes. the small ones are $2, the medium ones are $3 and the big ones are $4, that's $49 total. they asked if i wanted any money for them but especially since they arent' my design of course I don't. i figure since all the money is going to charity, there is no profit being made. you're right, they were easy to make and people eat them up at craft fairs especially since they are less than $10 so they are perfect for making a buck. i can't think of anything else I make that is not labor intensive and so a waste of my time to sell.

Great pillowcases and pumpkins! What a great idea to donate to charity! Ella will want to do another project I am sure, after all she gets to see all the wonderful things you make!

Timeshare at a local hospital and good insurance is a good idea! haha. My best friends son that is 3 is the maniac, he has already broke his arm 2 times and split his head open, what a nut. I feel bad for her. I can only imagine! Boys are just ruff and tumble!

I think it depends on the boys... If they have big sisters I am not sure that they are as ruff and tumble. Maybe the progesterone helps to out weigh some of the boyness?

Actually I know a little girl who is two who can out-rough and out-tumble my boys - and mine are pretty thoroughly boy. I think girls have areas they are harder too. Especially when they're older!! Jo - your girls are great though. I hope to have some just like them!
