Curtains

I finished the curtains for our living room. I have had this fabric for about three years now, knowing I wanted to use it in our "new" living room. (We bought this house three years ago next month.) I had originally thought to make slip covers for our old couches with it. I'm really glad I didn't because I think that much of this particular plaid in one room would have been overwhelming. I think this is just the right amount. Plus, not getting those slip covers done resulted in the new, leather couch you see in the picture. (Plus a love seat, chair, and ottoman.) See sometimes procrastinating pays off! :) Anyway, I still have a lot of this fabric left because I got 30 yards of it since I was going to use it to make slip covers. I am going to make some pillows with it, and then I guess I'll sell what's left. Anyone want some red and green plaid fabric??

It is funny how curtains change a room. After looking at those windows for three years without curtains, it looks a bit weird still. I think we'll get used to them, though.

By the way, can you tell that there are three large pleats in the curtains from the pictures? When I look at the picture, it looks so different from in person...

yeah i can see the pleats

you know...the only thing i am not too sure about is the stark white blinds. everything is muted and soft except for the blinds. it doesn't go. send jerry to home depot! :)

He would love to replace the blinds, but not because they are white, because they are cheap. But we have the white wood blinds in every window in the house, so it would be a rather large undertaking to change them all. I don't think I could do natural wood in here without changing at least seven other windows that are visible from this same room also! I think buying 10 wood blinds is out of the question financially!
