a monkey with only one tick on it. i guess that's too many legs. TWINS! no wait, there's not enough legs and arms there. oh i get it, your arms, your legs, your teeth, your heartbeat and a teeny little baby's heart beat since they have no teeth, only leg "buds" and arm "buds". i FINALLY get it. i seriously had to think about that for a while. duh!
Well, you guys were sure quick with this one! Well, maybe not Joanna! :) I am just days behind Marie! I got to see a heartbeat on my new baby Friday. This one's expected to make a debut in November.
that's so cool! i've never been pregnant with someone. too bad we don't live closer. my due date is on the 10th. when's yours? we get to see the baby on thursday, although i don't know if we will get to hear the heartbeat. they made us wait til week 12 with caleb.
My official due date is Nov. 16. I doubt you'll be able to hear the heartbeat, but you will be able to see it beating. Depending on how good your doctor's sonogram equipment is, and if he does it vaginally or abdominally, you may also be able to see arm buds and leg buds! They can listen to the heart through the ultrasound, but it can damage the babies heart if they do it before 12 weeks - so most doctors won't. But they'll be able to measure how many beats per minute. Mine was at 138 bpm.
ok at 138 bpm, i predict a girl. my theory was mostly blown out of the water with lily (and the ultrasonographer looked at me like i was crazy) but i sort of think that girls have slower heartbeats than boys. do you guys remember what the beats per minute were with your kids in utero? mine were in the 130's or 140's except with lily, hers was consistently in the 160's so i said, "IT'S A BOY" and that's when the ultrasonographer laughed maniacally as she told us it was another fabulous little girl in there.
Now that's an interesting theory that I forgot about. My boys heartbeats were always between 150 and 165. Much faster. Of course, this is still pretty early - that little heart speed could change a lot. But, for what it's worth, acording to both of the methods of looking at the Chinese calendar, it will be a girl. (Never mind that with one of the methods, both my boys should have been girls too...)
WOW Congratulations to all of you!!!! I am surely NOT next though, but I wish you all the greatest and all for girls, ok well maybe Meghan you need a boy!!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Sorry but after seeing the boys playing at the park the other day, I was quite content to be having another little girl. Sorry to all you boy moms out there.
