First wedding project

I have been a bit absent lately. I would like to blame it on my recently engaged status, if I may :) Although I don't know if I can still claim "recently" if it's been almost a month and a half now. Anyways, I apologize. Things were all exciting and hectic and we were trying to figure things out and make decisions and well, you know how it goes. We've finally picked a place and a date and all that good stuff. It'll be in January of next year, in Jacksonville. It was quite the chore to find a place with reasonable prices for what we wanted!

My only craftiness lately has been a bit of, shall we say, graphical design? haha i dont know what to call it. We decided we'd like to send out save the dates cards to people, and we came up with the idea for this postcard. Here's the front:

and here's the back:

What do you think? I'll tell you, that postmark on the front took forever to get right! (and was the source of our first wedding planning squable haha) now i'm a little worried about if the post office will be ok with my fake postmark on the front, or if it will mess things up. but i really like it, so i dont want to take it off... because you know this is all super important and will affect the future success of my marriage. so it has to be PERFECT.

awww.. that's so cute! i suppose you could always stick them in envelopes if they have a problem with it, but that would take away from the cuteness. Have you picked out your dress yet?

i've gone out twice to look at dresses, once with friends and once by myself. didn't find anything i really liked and i have a feeling this is going to be more difficult than i was expecting. i might go looking again tomorrow with my roommate who is also looking for a wedding dress. meagan, i know you've been sick, but would you be up for going with me sometime??

lol... I LOVE it!!! Very creative and definately right up your guys alley. Good job. You can even tell Darren that I side with you on the postmark thingy.

I would love to go with you. Should we plan for next Saturday or are you out of town that weekend? I work tomorrow and the saturday after that... basically every other one.

That is great! You'll find, if you guys are at all like me and Jerry, that all the little stuff totally matters now, but after a few months, he won't care - at all.
Brings back memories of the planning now... :)

Those are very nice, and from what I've seen and heard about you and Darren, very you. I really like them.

Oh, I LOVE them. They look really great with the postmark like that on the front!
And, hey - if you are up for a trip to the UK, there is an ADORABLE little wedding dress shop right here in town. The beautiful dress in the window is a measly 1,175 POUNDS.... I mean, that would only be about $2350.... who doesn't have THAT lying around???
