For my birthday my WONDERFUL husband gave me a trip to London with my friends for 2 whole days!!! (by the way I slept blissfully through the night for the first time in YEARS).
We had a great time and were able to see some great sights that can't normally be seen well with 4 kids in tow. (and when I got home the kids were all alive and the house was clean)
Big Ben way up close.
How absolutely hilarious is this picture of King Henry VIII's armor? Notice anything funny? Boy that man had issues, don't ya think?
This is my very tall friend Trish and I at the Tower of London. We even stopped in to see the crown jewels. (I like this picture because it is just dark enough that you can't see me very well! ha ha)
You may remember a while back when I hinted that I had a surprise for Jo... Well, the idea was to get her a few yards of the oh-so-famous Liberty of London fabric. As a thanks for being so generous with her skills. Turns out that oh-so-famous fabric was 20 pounds and up a meter. Yup. That is $40 AND UP. A meter. Sorry Jo, I love you. But not $40-a-yard-kind-of-love.
So, I got you instead the following lovely picture of the OUTSIDE of the Liberty department store.... (because you aren't allowed to take pictures inside) Enjoy!

20 pounds a meter!!!!! Oh my word. Yeah keep your pounds to yerself. I'm pretty darn happy with my "eejit" mug, which gets used for my morning coffee nearly every day.
That is awesome that you got to go to London sans any responsibility! What a good husband. Man, why doesn't my husband send me to London by myself? Sheesh, so selfish.
Wow, that looks like so much fun. It brings back so many memories of my honeymoon in London. Oh how I want to go back some day. So sweet of your hubby to let you get away for your birthday. All moms need that from time to time!
Liberty has an oyster bar in the store? Holy smokes. I found a place to buy Liberty fabric online and it was 56 Aussie dollars a metre. That's crazy!
