Bacon, Cheddar and Scallion Scones - My Entry

Ok, so I lost the pictures I took of the scones I actually made and had to borrow these, but mine really did look as good :) I found this recipe at the King Arthur Flour blog. You can find the recipe here and great step-by-step pictures here. The recipe calls for heavy cream, but I got really nervous at how rich they would be with the butter and bacon. So, I used half and half and I thought they were fantastic. The second time I made them, I used heavy cream and they were a bit too rich for me but Shane liked them better.

this looks really yummy. is this the new recipe war this month? what is the theme? sorry i missed out on the last one. i literally had no crockpot recipes. and I don't eat beef so I couldn't cook half of the recipes.

These sure do look yummy!

Leah, I believe that quick breads won the vote for October recipes.

...scones. Crap, my entry was a scone, too. Only a sweet scone. Now what do I do.

Repeat after me "yummy breakfast, yummy breakfast." Does it get any better than bacon and cheddar laden scones? This month is going to be TOUGH to vote on, I can tell already.

i don't see a problem with doing another scone. especially since yours is sweet and mine isn't.

Could this possibly have any more fattening things in it!? I am so dying to try this! I hope to try it in a couple of weeks as my mom is coming to visit and she loves scones!
