Sew Mama Sew Challenge

Over at Sew Mama Sew, they are asking questions about our sewing stash. Well, Here you go!

What do you usually sew? accessories (bags, belts, garden caddies, etc)
When you shop for fabric, what size cuts do you usually buy? (i.e. If you see something beautiful, but you don’t have a use for it right away, how much do you buy?) Depends on the cost of the fabric.... sometimes one yard, other times two or three yards
Do you buy on impulse or do you go out looking for something you need? Again depends on the deal.... I impulse buy the remnant rack, and purposely buy the by the yards.
Are you a pre-washer? If you are, do you wash your fabric before you need it, or only when you’re ready to use it? I am a Prewasher, but only as I need it..... which causes me to procrastinate.
Do you iron it? No not really..... Unless it really needs it.
How do you sort it? (color, print size, collection, etc.) Color. I don't even know who makes any of them.
Do you have any special folding techniques? Nope
How do you store your fabric? Cabinets over the worktable
What tips do you have for building up a well-rounded stash? Pay attention to the colors so that when you need to match by color you aren't lopsided (ie, I don't have any orange.... It isn't a popular color right now.....
When do you say enough is enough? I can't that is the problem
What are some of your favorite stash-busting projects? Table clothes and fabric plastic bags.
Do you have a current favorite print in your stash? Yes but I can't get the pictures to load on the computer.
What’s your definition of the perfect stash? well, a good one that is organized enough to get stuff done..... which isn't mine right now.....

I am like you - I buy remnants on impulse, but I almost never buy fabric by the yard that way. Occasionally, but usually I have a project in mind for it or I don't buy.
