Jelly Rolls

Have any of you used them at all? For quilting that is? I drool over them at Moda Bake Shop but NONE of the quilt shops in my area sell them. Poor me.

Missouri Quilt Co. is giving away a jelly roll this week. Maybe I'll win and I can finally get my hands on one. Too bad they're so far away from St. Louis since I'm going to be there in two weeks.

I actually bought a jelly roll months ago. Then I bought this book. I'm making one of the quilts now. But, it's going really slowly since I'm also making another quilt and also because I don't have much time at all to do crafty things right now.

Even though they are more expensive, I like the jelly rolls better than the charm packs, because you can't do much with just one charm pack. And even with two, it's only enough to make a very small quilt. I've seen jelly rolls on sale online for about $20, so I'll let you know if I see any again.

Never heard of them. But, they sound like a great idea.
You know, Melissa P. and I gave quilting a pretty good try when we were stationed in Korea. 2 problems, though -- First, we were stitching by hand. (can you imagine!) and second, I have NO eye for color and gave up trying. To me the stress of trying to pick out coordinating fabric was too much. Wish I had a machine now, it is so great with all the kits they have available!

well, it took me a while to figure out what a jelly roll is, but it looks pretty cool... I have done so little sewing lately though that I would never use it at the rate I am going.....
