It was over on a blog with $1 ideas that I saw the idea to take a shower curtain and using sharpie markers color roads and the places around town to create a town for matchbox cars to ride around. The author even suggested that you just do black and white images and let your kids color in the images with washable markers so that they could use it as a big coloring sheet. Then they could ride the cars around and pretend that they were running errunds, as they inadvertantly learn basic map skills and dirrectional words. I think at one time I even posted on this blog that I was so going to do it.
Well, I bought the shower curtain. I bought two actually. But I can't seem to place my fingers on them. Either one of them. First I lost a library book (turned up at the library), then a pair of jeans (in DH closet), Savannah's schooling planner (on top of microwave), and now this dollar store bag... I really must be losing it. Trying to be creative in the midst of my chaos right now is shall I say difficult??? I have lots of great ideas, like wanting to make a beanbag alphabet, pillow case for a travel pillow, car mat (two actually), phonics word family cards (this I have manage to do two of, but for birthday presents), a quilt, and so much more. Yet instead I have to congratulate myself on getting laundry folded and put away, cleaning out the toy bins, and purging the house of excess.... Oh and painting.... I started painting the main living area walls.... Yeah I would say that I am officially losing it, and wishing to be doing anything but.

Hey, I am losing everything as well. It is nuts. I blame the start of school... adds just enough chaos to throw everything off.
I love the idea of the shower curtain road map... But I wonder if the washable markers would smear? I am imagining a huge mess... you will have to let me know how it turns out. My 2 year old is obsessed with cars and would love a map to drive them all on!
I hear ya! I feel like I am in survival mode right now, just getting done what absolutely has to be done and letting the rest go. It is getting old, too. I hope you find your shower curtains, and your sanity right along with them! :)
BTW, who changed the blog background? I like it!
Well I found them this morning.... It is funny when I look for it when there is time to do it, I can't find what I am looking for, then when I can't find the time, there they are....
I canged the background... The other one was a little lacking.... This poor blog had just been getting ignored lately....
