A happy Medium

So for all you knitters out there trying to convince desperately to convince me to become a knitter......
I offer up a white flag of sorts.
I still hate traditional knitting with two separate needles. But I did enjoy knitting with the knitting loom that I was able to try last weekend...... and now my hands for one of my own. I am sure it is not a new concept, and I would try to explain it, but there are lots better places to find out more about it if you google knitting looms.
There also seems to be a lot of variance on the size and cost, but I have determined that if you get a larger loom you can make smaller things, but if you get a smaller loom you can not make bigger things. The main advantage of a smaller loom is portability.... and if you realistically are never going to make a big giant afghan, then you probably want to go smaller.....
Any of you knitters ever tried a loom before??? What is the knitting gauge? For regular thinner yarns, is 1/2 inch gauge small enough, cause I am not finding much smaller than that.

Sorry Meagan...I don't know how to help you with that. :(

Never tried a loom. It sounds interesting, but I shy away from anything requiring bigger equipment. We already have too much stuff in too small a house! Plus, I love plain old knitting. I would be really anxious to see more about it if you take it up. Sounds to me like a bigger loom might be more worth the money if you have the space...
Have you found anything else out?
