A New Purse

As this is my first post, let me start by saying thank you for the invite to join this blog! I have loved looking at it and keeping up with a good friend through it, and now I am really looking forward to participating. And it just so happens that the very day of the invite, I happened to be crafty! So, here goes...

I made a bag and wallet for one of my friends whose birthday is today - and yes, I realize that making it on the day she should receive it is a bit late. She'll get it about a week late by the time it gets to Germany, so for me that is about on par! Anyway, I think it turned out really nice. (Even though from the angle of the picture, it doesn't look like the wallet will fit in the purse, it fits nicely.)

I used the free tutorial for the Lindie bag from CraftApple. I may have gotten a little bit corny because I embroidered on the inside of the wallet "You are loved!", but I wanted to add a personal touch. Here's how it looks:

I think she'll like it though, which I guess is the point! Okay, I should go make dinner now!

wow, cool! you know when i bought my sewing machine i thought that i picked correctly because i thought i'd never use an embroidery machine. now though, poor del is going to have to invest in another machine because i'd really like to embroider stuff on a lot of these things i'm making, even if it is corny. i'm glad we caught you on a crafty day. you should post the other wallet, too. the fabric is really great on that and you could tell the story of the hole. that's a good story.

I thought about mentioning that this wallet even made it without an extra hole!! I'll add the other one too - it is funny.
