So Happy

Whenever I feel overwhelmed with some emotion I always want to share with you guys. I know for quite sometime that means me talking about school or work or my frustration and lack of confidence that I can do everything without sacrificing Caleb's wellbeing. But this time I am overwhelmed with my love and appreciation for Caleb. We picked him up yesterday! I hadn't seen him since July 17th!! Can you believe that? When I saw him, I ran to him and almost cried with relief that he really did remember me. And he definately wanted to go home with us. Oh my gosh! He is just so cute and makes me so happy! He grew up a lot in those 6 weeks and gained quite a bit of weight. But he does the most loving things like random "I love you"s and lots of cuddling. I'm trying not to think about how I was so stupid in agreeing to go to Nebraska. It's too soon. But trying to think on the bright side, I figure it will get me to change my traveling preference from "occasional" to "I will quit if you ever send me anywhere again." Also, I can't believe how patient I am with Caleb. Before Shane and I were always yelling at him to behave. But now I seem him so differently. He's only two for Pete's sake (as Ella would say) so I haven't been so easily frustrated with him. Shane is a different story, but I think it helps that I am so calm. Also, for once I feel like I am being a good loving mom. I'm sure I will feel differently when I'm on the plane to Nebraska but ... live and learn. Anyway, sorry this is so long and probably very boring. But as my fellow mom friends, I just had to share about how much I love my kid. I know you will all understand.

P.S. Something has happened and I will be forced to pull my sewing machine out. Stay tuned ...

Yeah! I am glad that Caleb is finally home. I bet it was a tough 6 weeks without him. Then again, you probably got some sleep, unlike in my house....

Yes, you did a great job on the blankie. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Those words of wisdom came up a lot for me when ever Grandma visited and left. I am glad that you get to feel this way, instead of in a crisis. Mom
