Uninspired

You know how when a woman says, "I have nothing to wear!", it actually means, "I have nothing new to wear!"? Well, I have nothing to cook. Meaning, I have a freezer full of meat, but can think of nothing new and exciting to cook with it. I need some inspiration. I need some new recipes! So here is where I depend on all of you - HELP!! Here are the meats I have in my freezer right now:
  • Boneless chuck cross rib roast
  • ground beef
  • chicken leg quarters (thigh attached) - bone in
  • bacon wrapped filet of beef
  • chuck shoulder beef roast (Texas broil)
  • boneless pork roast

I have such a variety - all I am missing is fish, which I fixed already this week. What would you be inspired to make if this was in your freezer?? Can somebody please send me a recipe?

I already have tonight covered with leftover soup and fresh baked bread (which is rising right now!), but after tonight, I need help...

My father in law makes these great pork bbq sandwiches... He puts the pork roast in the crock pot first thing in the morning with a cup a water and cooks alllllll day on low. About 1.5-2 hrs before dinner he drains the liquid, pulls apart the pork and adds a bottle of bbq sauce. We throw it on some good buns and it is yummy. Of course, you gotta like bbq sanwiches. Can you tell I am all about easy suppers?

Oh, me too. I can get excited about a complicated recipe when I am in the mood, but 80% of the time, I want it to be easy. That sounds great to me!

I wish I could help. I get really confused with types of meat. It's too overwhelming for me. I tried to stick with ground beef, which I use to make chili or spaghetti, and stew meat, which I use to make beef stew and curry stew (japanese curry, not indian.) we tend to eat the same things over and over. it's even worse now that josef is with us cause we hardly ever have leftovers since he eats so much. i can't keep up. in about 10 years, you'll have to cook a huge dinner every single night in order to feed your boys. but it's good that you have a while to build up your stock of recipes. i'm not helping, am i? :)

ummm, if I had the inspiration to cook more then I would help you but I just don't. We are still at the stage where we don't have enough kids to need to buy any food for them when we are out so we still eat out more than we should.

I think I will do the bbq pork. That does sound good. I'll let you know what else I come up with as it comes. It may be a while...
