Here is an odd question for you...

Does anyone here wear a size 6 shoe?
If so I want to ask you to measure your foot very carefully from heel to toe....
I am trying to finish these socks for my mother-in-law, but I think they seem to long. They are a good length according to a few charts I have found on line that list foot length to shoe size, but I want to double check. I just have this picture in my head of handing the socks-that-I-spent-ages-making to my MIL and having them be 10 sizes too big. You know?
THANK YOU!
:-)

I could only wish for size 6 feet! If you ever need a 9 1/2 measurement, let me know!

Wow, Jo -5? My goodness I didn't remember you had such tiny feet!

Yeah, they're pretty darn cute. Little feet with chubby toes. It's disgusting. Plus it's hard to shop for such little feet.

lol... Can't help. but at least Jo has a size 5. A size 6 can't be too much bigger.

i think it might be okay to have joanna measure her feet and use that as the length. this would make the sock have to stretch a little on your MiL's feet, which could mean a better fit.

Okay, Jo... :-) Measure your foot heel to toe PLEASE!!!!

it probably would be a good idea to throw in a few extra rows, so the fit isn't too short.

It's 8.5 inches.

So am I the only one who got curious about the difference between size 5 feet and their size foot? I did. If you're wondering, the difference between 5 and 9 1/2 is 1 1/2 inches. Why do I feel the need to compare everything??? It's interesting to know, anyway.

That's not very much bigger. I thought that was very interesting information, Johanna, thank you.

it doesn't seem like 1.5 inches is that much of a difference when you compare how many sizes are in between the size 5 and the 9.5(8), but it really would be hard to walk in shoes that were an inch and a half too big!
