I have a job! Okay, well, sort of. Tina's sister is getting married and Tina has hired me to make "The Most Beautiful Apron Ever" and some napkins for a wedding gift. So I thought I'd share what I'm going to make.
First the apron. I made this apron from some fabric I bought from Marie.
It's a really beautiful pattern. The original I cannot find online anymore but I was smart and saved the pattern to a Word document when I found it a few years ago. This is the picture from the original pattern. I'm sorry I cannot credit the picture taker.
This is the fabric I purchased for the apron.
Look at that baby boy! Isn't he the cutest!?
It's Moda Aster Manor by Three Sisters. It's fully lined. I'm so jealous. I might not be able to actually send it to Tina to give to her sister. She may have to fly out here and wrench it from my hands.
The napkins. This is the china Tina's sister has registered for.
Isn't it pretty? Fortunately I found this fabric at Joann's, on sale even!
They only had three yards of it and she's registered for 16 settings, so I'm not sure I can get sixteen 17 inch napkins out of it, so I will have to get creative. I am going to use a white broadcloth for the contrast color.
And that's what I am sewing right now.

Maybe I should have gone with a contrasting color like yellow instead of trying to match greens on a piece of china I cannot hold in my hands. Hmmm...what do you think?
The fabric for the apron is beautiful! It's sophisticated. I think the green fabric will work nicely. It's a really nice pattern! It doesn't look like Joann's fabric. Sometimes they have some really great stuff!
Hey, when did Isaac sit up? Charlotte is close to it, but I'm pretty sure the other two were already sitting up by now. I'm so anxious for her to be able to move around!
That is spectacular!!! :-) She will be so thrilled. I can't believe you found such perfect fabric!
I think the fabric you found is great, I wouldn't worry about it.
I am always so pleased with the results when I put you to work!
Isaac kept sitting up on his own when we'd put him in the sitting position at 5 months and by 6 months he was sitting himself up. By 6 1/2 months he was crawling and now he's all over the house, eating crap off the floor and everything is a toy. So much fun.
Oh! That seems like such a short period of time to go from barely sitting up to crawling! That seems crazy that he is already that big! You need to post more pictures! :)
Charlotte will sit up, but hunched over and then she falls over (purposely, I think) after a few seconds. She doesn't really seem all that interested.
I love those aprons. I'd love to have one even. Hint, hint. You know, my favorite color is red. :)
I also think that green fabric is awesome! I like the dishes, too! I am a bit tired of mine...but too cheap to buy all new ones. If I bought new ones, I'd get all white. I think the napkins would look great with a white border, but that does make the project 54% harder.
